gsg detox: day 2

I was a bit nervous about day 2 considering the headache I fought off yesterday but so far so good. I wasn't nearly as desperate as I feared I might be when I woke up this morning and was able to stick to the plan of veggie drink and oatmeal. Probably the hardest part about this detox for me so far is that we can't use any salt and my oatmeal was pretty icky, even with some cinnamon and stevia mixed in.

It's now mid-afternoon and while I've already eaten my "lunch" I'm already a bit hungry. I"ll likely need some veggie juice before dinner to get me through. But so far no headache, which is a huge relief.

gsg detox: day 1

Okay, today my mom and I kicked off the Green Smoothie Girl 26-day detox.

By noon I was starving. And even after eating what I was able to for lunch I could feel a bad headache coming on. I tried to down a lot of water to fight it off but it came just the same. I laid low for about an hour, after putting some Past Tense on my forehead, temples and the back of my neck. But when my head was still throbbing an hour later I gave in and went for the Excedrin. Not the best choice considering part of the purpose of this cleanse is to purge toxins or chemicals from my body but I was feeling pretty desperate.

After the pain tapered off I was able to enjoy a nice evening with my family, and had enough energy to put my boys to bed with some stories and singing. But now that I'm ready for bed, after reading a book for an hour or so, my stomach won't stop growling and I know it's going to be difficult to fall asleep.
